I wrote this for a creative writing course on short stories. However, I decided shortly after finishing it that I would eventually like to make it at least twice as long; I think there is a lot more I can explore with this piece. What I am sharing, though, is the original short story. I can translate the Chinese if anyone is interested (I recommend against Google translate, because you're not going to get what it is supposed to say...) It is also probably my second attempt at writing in first person
